My Grandmother's Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

my boys' absolute favorite!

We call them 

BEDTIME COOKIES

1 cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

cream together first four ingredients

add

1/3 cup buttermilk (I add 1 teaspoon vinegar to my skim milk)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3 cups flour

1 package of chocolate chips (we like dark)

form into balls . . . bake at 375 . . . for 12 minutes

Then just add milk . . . and enjoy!
