To be honest, at first read, I was disappointed to learn that

these locks weren't seen as beauty, but in keeping an open mind to others' opinions

I agree that perhaps the best symbol for love is not a lock

and something that was once a quaint and discreet act is now overdone.

This brings me to my second New Year's goal

which is to not only read more books, but also to learn more from noteworthy newspapers.

January Favorites

I have been loving our new Amour candle.  It smells so good, 

and as you can see I have a bit of a notebook obsession.

Especially notebooks with gold coils.  Crazy, I know.

I use notebooks for some many things.  I'm one who still likes to write things down.  

I recently started a new notebook to keep track of the books I'm reading.

One of my New Year's goals is to read more and spend less time on my phone.

I highly recommend it!  I gave two this year as Christmas gifts.
